D. 5 C.F.R. Part 11, Probationary and Trial Periods (Rule XI)
1. This ALCOAST announces a change to REF (A). Specifically,
in accordance with REFs (B) and (C), Chapter 2 (H) of REF (A)
is immediately superseded by REF (D). The termination of employees
serving a probationary or trial period will be conducted in
accordance with REF (D).
2. The authority to certify continued employment or to terminate
the appointment is delegated to the lowest practical level of
supervision within an employee's chain of command consistent
with good management practices. Normally this is the first level
of supervision. However, any supervisor, at any level of
supervision within an individual's chain of command, may
initiate action consistent with this policy.
3. These changes will be incorporated into future updates to
REF (A).
