MENTOR PROGRAM

1. This ALCOAST solicits applications for the CY26 Officer Candidate
School (OCS) Class Mentor Program. The class mentoring program is
an essential component in the development of the Service's newest
commissioned Officers. OCS mentors meet in-person with the Officer
Candidates at three points during the twelve-week training period:
first during week one (1), again at week seven (7) during
Billet Night, and finally for the graduation ceremony during
week twelve (12). Additional visits can be accommodated and are
encouraged if the mentor's schedule allows. These can be either
in-person or virtual.
2. Estimated CY26 mentorship dates:
    a. OCS 2-26: Visit 1 - January 15, 2026; Billet Night -
February 26, 2026; Graduation - April 2, 2026
    b. OCS 3-26: Visit 1 - April 23, 2026; Billet Night -
June 4, 2026; Graduation - July 9, 2026
    c. ROCI 1-26: Visit 1 - July 23, 2026; Graduation -
August 20, 2026
    d. OCS 1-27: Visit 1 - September 3, 2026; Billet Night -
October 15, 2026; Graduation - November 19, 2026
3. Specific Mentor Application Requirements:
    a. Officers must be O-7 and above.
    b. Participation by the principal's Command Senior Enlisted
Leader, if assigned, is highly encouraged.
    c. Funding for mentor travel costs is at own unit expense.
4. Given the typical level of interest in this unique opportunity
and the number of available OCS convenings, not all applicants
will be selected.
5. Executive Assistants or flag aides may submit requests for
their principals with their desired convenings via e-mail to the
POC listed in paragraph six (6) by 01 OCT 2025. All applicants
will be notified of their selection status via e-mail NLT
15 OCT 2025.
6. This program is categorized as mission critical in accordance
with REF (A).
