1. On behalf of the United States Coast Guard, congratulations to
the United States Army on your 250th Birthday!
2. From the fight to establish our great nation to defending our
freedom today, the U.S. Army has served with honor and distinction
in peace and war.
3. The Army's steadfast adherence to the motto "This We'll Defend"
echoes as powerfully in today's conflicts as it did on the
battlefields of the Revolution.
4. From driving the landing craft that brought soldiers ashore in
Normandy 81 years ago, to joint operations around the world today,
the Coast Guard is proud to fight alongside the Army to defend
American freedom and our way of life.
5. We honor the Army's two and a half centuries of service and
sacrifice, and we reaffirm our commitment to standing alongside
you in defense of our nation.
