1. REFs (A) through (G) provided overarching guidance for return to
in-person work. To support this effort, a special process was
created to help place personnel at alternate work locations under
specific, limited circumstances.
2. Eligible personnel meeting the alternate work location criteria
were directed to the Presidential Directives Implementation
Team (PDIT) SharePoint site to complete a Worker Space Request Form.
Approved requests will be sent to COMDT (CG-81) to update the
position's alternate work location in Direct Access.
    a. For military members with approved requests, Personnel Service
Center will issue no-cost orders to the alternate work location.
Military members must check-in with their cognizant personnel office
to update pay entitlements for the approved alternate work location.
    b. For civilian personnel, if the alternate work location is
within their current locality, COMDT (CG-1C) will initiate a
"change in duty station" personnel action. If the alternate work
location is outside of their current locality, CG-1C will initiate
a "general adjustment" personnel action. Both actions serve to
document the approved alternate work location.
    c. When an individual, either military or civilian, vacates a
position, CG-81 will reset the position's work location to the
original duty station, terminating any approved alternate work
location previously associated with the position.
3. The process to place personnel at alternate work locations under
specific, limited circumstances was designed to address the
immediate need to implement return to in-person work directives.
This process is a temporary solution to in-person work arrangements
and not a mechanism to address future personnel assignments, such
as assignment year 2025 military orders, new issuances of reserve
orders for fiscal year 2026, or civilian hiring actions. Members
with specific questions about their situation, should direct
those questions to the appropriate assignment authority. Requests
submitted to the PDIT that fall outside of the scope of REFs (A)
through (G) will not be processed.
