SUBJ: BOAT FORCES MASTER KEEPER CERTIFICATE
1. Military organizations highlight and recognize specific
accomplishments through the issuance of certificates. Earning
certificates builds esprit-de-corps while representing
professional achievements.
2. With the creation of this new certificate, we acknowledge
those who have rendered exemplary service at Boat Forces units
and celebrate their service.
3. Keeper Dunbar John Davis led an exemplary career with the
United States Lifesaving Service, serving with distinction for
several decades during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Davis served with unwavering commitment for over 30 years at
various lifesaving stations, exemplifying the courage and
tenacity required to save lives in perilous conditions. This
certificate echoes the spirit of Keeper Davis, serving as a
reminder of the courage, leadership, and sacrifice that continue
to define the Boat Forces community.
4. The Boat Forces Master Keeper Certificate is surrounded by
images of the specific Boat Forces platforms the member certified
on and will display the highest Boat Forces insignia the member
has earned during their Coast Guard career.
5. Eligibility requirements. To be eligible to earn the Boat
Forces Master Keeper Certificate, members must have maintained a
Boat Forces competency while accruing time on Active or Reserve
Duty for a minimum of 20 years at Boat Forces unit including:
a. Multi-Mission Stations
b. Multi-Mission Stations - Advanced Competency (Heavy Weather,
Surf, Pursuit, PWCS)
c. Aids to Navigation Teams
d. Multi-Mission Units - MSST, MFPU, PSU
6. Issuing Authority. The issuing authority for the Boat Forces
Master Keeper Certificate is the Office of Boat Forces (CG-731).
Issuing authority must ensure certification requirements have
been met.
7. Documentation. For entitlement, members shall submit all request
by memo with supporting documentation to the Office of Boat Forces
(CG-731) by emailing HQS-DG-lst-CG-7311@uscg.mil.
8. The Boat Forces Master Keeper Certificate will be retroactively
awarded to any member who has met the eligibility requirements
outlined in Paragraph (6).
