1. This ALCOAST recognizes the winners of the Fiscal Year 2024 Armed
Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA)/U.S. Naval
Institute (USNI) Copernicus Awards program outlined in REF (A).
The Copernicus Awards were established to recognize individual
contributions to naval warfare in Command, Control, Communications,
Computers, and Intelligence (C4I), Information Systems, Cyber
Operations, and Information Warfare. The members below made
exemplary contributions to the Coast Guard during fiscal year 2024.
2. I am honored to announce the Coast Guard recipients of the fiscal
year 2024 Copernicus Awards:
    a. LT Kaitlyn S. DeValk, USCG, 2003 Cyber Protection Team
    b. CWO David A. Poling, USCG, Coast Guard Cyber Command
    c. ITC Colleen V. Civils, USCG, Coast Guard Base Guam
    d. ET1 Anthony J. Smith, USCG, Coast Guard Cutter KIMBALL
3. This DoD-wide recognition is a testament to the tremendous effort
the Coast Guard is making at all levels of the Command, Control,
Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I), and
Information Warfare communities.
4. All Copernicus Award winners will be recognized during an
awards presentation ceremony held during the 2025 C5I Centralized
Annual Training (C-CAT) at CG Headquarters in Washington, DC on
26 March 2025. Awards presentation and recognition will be
