Subj: LEADERSHIP NOTIFICATION TO THE USCG WORKFORCE

1. The attached ALCOAST 021/25 – JAN 2025 - LEADERSHIP NOTIFICATION TO USCG WORKFORCE announced the relief of Admiral Linda L. Fagan from her duties as Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. Acting Commandant Admiral Kevin E. Lunday recently emailed the following to the Coast Guard workforce:

To our Coast Guard Workforce,

Last night the Acting Secretary of DHS, under his statutory authority, relieved ADM Fagan as Commandant effective at 0001 21 Jan with thanks and appreciation for her long and illustrious career of service to the nation. By operation of law and at the direction of the Acting Secretary of DHS, I have assumed duties as Acting Commandant.

Our duty to our nation and the American people we serve remains unchanged, and the Coast Guard remains Semper Paratus. Continue to execute our missions and operations with the excellence we are renowned for.

2. Internet release is authorized.
