SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR NOMINATIONS FOR 2024 USCG CHIEF FINANCIAL
OFFICER (CFO) AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
1. This ALCOAST solicits nominations for the 2024 USCG CFO Awards
for Excellence.
2. This award program provides recognition for noteworthy
financial management accomplishments by Coast Guard personnel.
The 2024 nominations should reflect an emphasis on outstanding
performance, innovative thinking, and improved methods in
financial management.
3. There are nine total USCG CFO Awards for Excellence, of which
eight are individual awards (separated by employee type) and one
team award. The nine awards are given to the following employee
categories:
a. Enlisted Personnel E-6 and below,
b. Enlisted Personnel E-7 and above,
c. Chief Warrant Officer,
d. Civilian Employees up to GS-8,
e. Civilian Employees GS-9 to GS-12,
f. Civilian Employees GS-13 and above,
g. Commissioned Officer O-1 to O-3,
h. Commissioned Officer O-4 and above, and
i. Team Achievement consisting of 4 to 20 team members. Team
award submissions must be limited to 20 personnel, to include the
team leader and a list of team members, identifying them by
rank/GS, full name, current unit, and current unit address.
4. Any Coast Guard employee may be nominated for a USCG CFO Award
for Excellence. It is not necessary for the nominee to be assigned
to a financial, procurement and contracting, or logistics
management position. The period for the awards is the calendar
year ending 31 December 2024. Commands may nominate as many
individuals or teams as desired in each category. Nominators
should be second-level supervisors within the financial management
community who are familiar with the nominees' performance,
abilities, and career goals, and receive command-level approval
prior to submitting any nomination. Nominations for these awards
do not preclude nominees from receiving other awards, such as a
DHS CFO Award, personal awards, or cash/time off awards for the
same action.
