SUBJ: DHS ETHOS TRAINING FOR COAST GUARD CIVILIANS - 2025 POLICY
AND TRAINING DATES
1. This ALCOAST announces the 2025 Department of Homeland Security
(DHS) Ethos Training policy and training dates. This DHS Ethos
Training is Phase 1 of the larger two-phase Coast Guard
Acculturation Program and is required for all newly hired civilian
employees within 90 days of onboarding. Phase 2 will launch later
in 2025 and will cover CG History, organizational structure,
missions, rates, ranks, traditions, and professional development
opportunities.
2. This DHS Ethos Training is part of a broader DHS public service
initiative. The intent of this initiative is to emphasize the
value proposition of DHS public service and to continue fostering
a departmental culture grounded in core public service values.

3. To meet the DHS Ethos Training requirements, the following
training dates/times will be offered:
    a. 30 Jan 2025 at 1000-1600 ET
    b. 20 Feb 2025 at 1300-1900 ET
    c. 27 Mar 2025 at 1000-1600 ET
    d. 24 Apr 2025 at 1300-1900 ET
    e. 29 May 2025 at 1000-1600 ET
    f. 26 Jun 2025 at 1300-1900 ET
    g. 31 Jul 2025 at 1000-1600 ET
    h. 28 Aug 2025 at 1300-1900 ET
    i. 25 Sep 2025 at 1000-1600 ET
    j. 30 Oct 2025 at 1300-1900 ET
    k. 20 Nov 2025 at 1000-1600 ET
    l. 11 Dec 2025 at 1300-1900 ET
4. This training will be conducted virtually through Microsoft
Teams and will be facilitated live by the FORCECOM Civilian Career
Management (CCM) Team. Because the training is interactive, working
video cameras and microphones are required. Every participant should
expect to participate verbally or through chat and may be asked to
share their personal and professional experiences. Participants can
also expect several videoclips, scenario-based discussions, and
guest appearances (schedule dependent) from Flag Officers and Senior
Executives.
5. Approximately two weeks prior to each DHS Ethos Training session,
the CCM Team will send a calendar invite and MS Teams link to newly
hired civilian employees who have a CG civilian email address and
who still need to attend the training. Alternatively, to register
for one of the above training dates, employees may send an email to
the CCM mailbox at: D05-SMB-FORCECOM-CCM@uscg.mil.
6. Civilian employees who have previously attended DHS Ethos
Training through the CG or any other DHS component are exempt from
the DHS Ethos training requirement.
