1. This ALCOAST announces the 2025 Black Engineer of the Year
Award (BEYA) conference. The conference will be held in person
13-15 February 2025, at the Baltimore Convention Center in
Baltimore, Maryland and virtually on the BEYA Digital Twin
Experience (DTX) platform. The BEYA Conference is an annual event
aimed at celebrating diversity and fostering career growth within
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
Every year a different service is highlighted. This year the
service of choice is the United States Coast Guard (USCG).
This conference gathers a wide range of participants including
students, professionals, military personnel, and industry leaders.
There are opportunities for learning, networking, and career
development.
2. Through collaboration with BEYA, USCG reinforces its
dedication to innovation, problem solving, and excellence in
operations. Additionally, events like this support the Coast
Guard by being force multipliers for retention and professional
and personal development of the workforce. CG members
specifically benefit from candid and insightful discussions
with both senior departmental and service leaders and among
themselves. Additionally, this event offers mutually beneficial
educational opportunities that provide participants with a
greater understanding of how to work with and capitalize on the
differences and strengths within the various ranks. The full
