SUBJ: UPDATED MILITARY SEPARATIONS INSTRUCTION

1. This ALCOAST announces the promulgation of REF (A) and the
cancellation of REF (B). A summary of major changes is provided
below.
a. REF (A) Section 2.Q.2.d. A member with eight or more years of
military service being recommended for separation due to misconduct
involving drugs or for disrupting drug urinalysis testing by
tampering with urine samples or documents are entitled to an
Administrative Separation (ADSEP) Board.
b. REF (A) Section 7.C.2.a.(3) Senior Enlisted Continuation Board
(SECB) criteria updated to also include 30 to 31 years active
military service.
2. Policies and standards in REF (A) not specifically addressed in
this ALCOAST remain unchanged.
