1. The Coast Guard Reserve is a vital part of our Total Workforce.
We depend on the Coast Guard Reserve daily to ensure the readiness of the
force for major crisis or contingency, from response to natural disaster
or major incidents to national defense. Leadership of the Coast Guard
Reserve is an essential part of the Coast Guard senior leadership team
and includes the MCPO-CGR.
2. This message solicits an immediate fill for the MCPO-CGR position.
Selection will require a two-year Extended Active Duty (EAD) Contract.
3. The candidate selected for this prestigious position must model the
Coast Guard's Core Values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty and
possess the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. They
must also lead others in building a Core-Values based culture where every
member of our workforce is safe, valued, and empowered, and where every
workplace is intolerant of harmful behaviors.
4. Eligibility:
a. Open to Reserve Master Chief's who meet the Gold Badge CSEL
qualifications set forth in references (a) through (c), and the AY25 CSEL
Program Information Sheet.
b. Members in receipt of AY24 PCS orders are eligible to apply, the gaining
command must provide a positive endorsement on the e-resume.
5. Selection Timelines:
a. 30 AUG 2024 - Application deadline.
b. 03-06 SEPT 2024 - Panel convenes.
c. Estimated Report Date: OOA 15 Oct 2024.
d. Announcement of the selected member will be made by ALCOAST.
6. Application packages:
a. Completed MCPO-CGR application packages must be sent to CG PSC RPM-2
Assignments at: hqs-smb-cgpsc-rpm-2-assignments@uscg.mil and YNCM Mary
Endicott at Mary.F.Endicott@uscg.mil. The subject line must read
"MCPO-CGR APPLICATION."
b. Applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt.
7. Screening and selection process: CG PSC RPM will screen application
packages to ensure basic eligibility and convene a panel to establish a
list of best-qualified candidates.
8. Applications must not exceed two pages and must be reviewed and endorsed
by the first flag officer or SES in their chain of command. The endorsement
will evaluate all facets of the applicant's record, including performance
of duty, military background, and personal characteristics.
9. Waivers: Members who require a waiver for assignment must also submit
a package for screening. Assignment will be contingent upon waiver approval
from CG PSC RPM and the needs of the service.
