SUBJ: AY25 SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS SOLICITATION - MULTIPLE POSITIONS – TRACEN PETALUMA
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST M1000.8A
1. All members are highly encouraged to pursue at least one Special Assignment during their career. These career broadening assignments provide members valuable opportunities to represent their ratings, network, and learn about other operational and mission support activities, making them ideal candidates for future assignments to highly visible leadership and management positions (e.g. Silver Badge, OIC, School Chief).
2. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for the following Special Assignment positions at TRACEN PETALUMA:

00037596 PO1 INDOC PRGM INSTRUCTOR
3. Eligibility:
a. Tour complete in AY25 or AY26, Members effected by the Force Alignment Initiative may request a tour completion waiver in their Command Endorsement.
b. Must be at the paygrade of the position applying for (or above the cut of the position applying for) prior to the application deadline.
c. Meet the requirements listed in reference (A), CH 1.E.2 for all Special Duty positions.
d. Meet additional requirements listed in reference (A), CH 1.E.6 for instructor duty positions, and receive the required command endorsement IAW reference (A).
4. Process/timeline:
a. NLT 02 AUG 2024: Standard Application due.
b. OOA 12 – 16 AUG 2024: Programs may interview applicants.
c. OOA 01 SEP 2024: Selection results are released via email.
d. The expected report date is 01 JUL 2025.
5. The Special Assignments Assignment Officer (AO) will coordinate the release from rating process. Applicants should not contact their Assignment Officer asking if they can be released from rate.
