1. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for candidates to fill the following EM1 position:

2. IAW reference (B), Phase 1 candidates are defined as members who are
below the currently published cut line within their stratified list on the
current, active advancement eligibility list.
3. This message solicits for a Fast Response Cutter afloat assignment
in Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA). This assignment is for a one
year PCS deployment to begin in the Winter of AY24. Personnel applying for
PATFORSWA should expect high optempo duty in support of a highly visible
national defense mission. Those selected for this opportunity will be required
to attend pre-deployment training, which lasts approximately five weeks
in addition to any required pipeline training. Estimated report date is OOA:
01 DEC 2024. Actual report dates to Bahrain are set by the PATFORSWA Admin
Officer. Successful completion of this assignment will result in an assignment
priority one.
4. Members applying for this position must be eligible IAW paragraph 3 of
reference (C).
5. All eligible members interested in this assignment opportunity should submit
an eResume in DA NLT COB 03 APR 2024. A command endorsement is required.
Endorsement criteria can be found in paragraph 7 of reference (C).
6. E6s in receipt of PCS orders may not apply to this position. E6s desiring to
fill the above position who are not tour complete are eligible to apply and will
have priority over those E5s who do apply. However, these members must receive a
command endorsement addressing backfill requirements. Commands should be aware
that immediate backfills may not be available and could incur a gap at their
unit until AY25.
7. Members in Special Assignments may apply to this position. However, these
members must receive a command endorsement addressing backfill
requirements. Commands should be aware that immediate backfills for Special
Assignments are not available and will incur a gap at their unit until AY25.
8. A2P may be used to fill this position if a candidate meets the criteria in
reference (B). If a qualified E5 is selected, the member will advance to E6 IAW
reference (B), if all other advancement requirements are met and the
advancement recommendation is maintained.
9. As a reminder, candidates should ensure their Official Military
Personnel File (OMPF) is complete and accurate (e.g. CG-4082, CG-3307s,
awards, academic transcripts). Members can view their OMPF by logging onto
iPERMS: iPERMS RMA (uscg.mil). If updates to the OMPF are needed, members
can work with their local Personnel & Admin office. Members are also
encouraged to review their ESS in CGBI.
