1. The nomination submission deadline for the 2024 Leadership and
Excellence in Diversity Awards set forth in REF (A) is extended
to 23 APR 24.
2. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (CG-DCMS-DPR-4) presents
the 2024 Leadership and Excellence in Diversity Awards.
The annual MCPO Pearl Faurie and CAPT Dorothy Stratton awards
recognize female commissioned and enlisted Coast Guard active
duty and reserve members who have demonstrated exceptional
leadership, and the CAPT Edward Williams award recognizes female
or male Coast Guard Officers who have championed initiatives to
achieve, value, and manage diversity in the Coast Guard.
3. Nominations are now being accepted for the following
Leadership and Excellence in Diversity Awards:
    a. MCPO Pearl Faurie Women's Leadership Award (one active duty
or reserve CG enlisted member, E-4-E-8).
    b. CAPT Dorothy Stratton Women's Leadership Award (one active
duty or reserve CG Officer W-2 through O-4).
    c. CAPT Edward R. Williams Coast Guard Award for Excellence in
Diversity (one active duty or reserve Officer W-2 through O-4)
4. Please note that policy for these awards is outlined in REF (A).
5. Deadlines:
    a. Nominations for the MCPO Pearl Faurie Women's Leadership
Award and the CAPT Dorothy Stratton Women's Leadership Award must
be received by COMDT (CG-DCMS-DPR-4) NLT 23 April 2024.
    b. Nominations for the CAPT Edward R. Williams Coast Guard Award
for Excellence in Diversity must be received by COMDT
(CG-DCMS-DPR-4) NLT 23 April 2024.
    c. Submit all nomination memos for the MCPO Pearl Faurie,
CAPT Dorothy Stratton, and CAPT Edward Williams awards to the
following inbox: HQS-SMB-JWLS@uscg.mil
    d. CO/OICs may nominate one active or reserve member per award,
provided they have not previously received the respective award.
Nominations must cover the period from January 2023 to December
2023 for the Women's Leadership Awards and from 28 Feb 2021 to
28 Feb 2024 for the Excellence in Diversity Award. All nominations
must be submitted in memorandum format from the member's CO/OIC, or
first O-6/GS-15 in the chain of command addressed to
COMDT (CG-DCMS-DPR-4). Nominations must be no longer than three
pages. If CO/OIC is nominated, endorsement must be from the next
senior command. Sample memoranda can be found on the COMDT

recipients and the selection will be announced via ALCOAST
approximately 30 days after the application deadline.
