1. All members are highly encouraged to pursue at least one Special
Assignment during their career. These career broadening assignments
provide members valuable opportunities to represent their ratings,
network, and learn about other operational and mission support
activities, making them ideal candidates for future assignments to
highly visible leadership and management positions (e.g. Silver Badge,
OIC, School Chief).
2. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for a candidate to fill the following position:

PO2 00006820 CG-DCMS-ES DCMS Support Washington, DC
3. Eligibility:
a. Tour Complete in AY24, AY25, not in receipt of AY24 orders.
b. Paygrade: Must be in position paygrade or above SWE cut at
time of application.
c. Meet the minimum requirements outlined in Ref (A), Articles 1.E.2.
4. Application:
a. NLT 28 MAR 2024: Command endorsement emailed to
HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments@uscg.mil, with
SUBJ LINE: "DCMS Support-Member Name, EMPLID Command Endorsement”.
b. OOA 08 APR 2024: Applicant selection results released via email.
c. The expected report date is 01 JUL 2024.
5. Command interview and endorsement:
a. Commanding Officers shall interview applicants to ensure eligibility
requirements in paragraph (3) are met.
b. Commands shall address any backfill requirements and specify a
required reporting date. Commands should be advised that immediate
backfills are not always available and requirements for one will
be factored into candidate selection.
6. The Special Assignments Officer will handle the release from
rating process. Applicants should not contact their detailer asking
if they can be released from rate.
