1. Event: The Military Operations Research Society (MORS) and the
U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) are co-hosting the 2024 MORS
Symposium at the NPS located in Monterey, CA from 24-27 June,
2024. This year's theme is Advancing Analytical Leadership.

2. Purpose: The 92nd MORS Symposium will include hundreds of
presentations across 35 working groups and numerous distributed
working groups, special sessions, demonstrations, tutorials, and
continuing education unit courses  over the four-day program. Over
the last six years, members from the Coast Guard Operations
Research and Data Analytics community presented
dozens of studies on topics including boat station mission
relevance, forecasting techniques and visualization with Python,
neural networks and artificial intelligence, unstructured data
analytics, applying systems thinking and system dynamics
modeling to improve understanding of service, and programmatic 
advances in data analytics and artificial intelligence. This year's
sessions will consist of classified and unclassified presentations.
3. Conference Attendance Information:
    a. The Office of Data and Analytics (CG-ODA) is the conference 
champion for coordinating conference approval. COMDT (CG-ODA) has 
limited funds to sponsor member attendance. Members requesting 
COMDT (CG-ODA) funds will make their request through the steps 
outlined in paragraph four of this message. 
If COMDT (CG-ODA) is unable to facilitate a member's request,
attendance, travel, and conference fees will be at unit discretion 
and expense. If funding is not available through COMDT (CG-ODA) or
the parent unit, permissive orders are authorized in accordance with
REF (B). Attendees are responsible for making their own
registration, travel, and lodging accommodations, regardless of
funding source.
    b. Early registration conference fee is $525 for MORS members 
and $685 for non-members. Regular registration fee is $675
and $840 respectively. 
Please make sure you select 'U.S. Federal Government' as your 
employer to ensure you register at the appropriate rate.
    c. Key Dates.
       (1) 09 February 2024 - Deadline for abstract submission
       (2) 24 February 2024 - Provide CG-2070 with estimated costs to
the conference POC.
       (3) 29 March 2024 - Early registration ends
       (4) 10 May 2024 - Regular registration ends
       (5) 07 June 2024 - All registration payments/invoices due
4. Member's responsibilities: To attend the conference,
members are responsible for providing the following requirements
to the conference POC in paragraph seven:
    a. Please forward an email to the POC in
paragraph seven with the following information in the CG-81
Conference Attendee Roster Cost Estimation Worksheet template:

         Rank/Civilian Pay Grade
         Job Title
         Unit/Office/Division
         Current PDS Location
         Previous Attendee (Y/N)

         If Requesting CG-ODA Funds:
         Reason for Request
         Priority Rank if Requesting Multiple Members from One Office
         Is Member Presenting at MORS (Y/N)
         Is Member an Awardee at this year's MORS (Y/N)
    b. Provide immediate email notification if cancelling attendance.
    c. After attending event, submit the Travel Voucher Summary
(from ETS) via email for actual conference cost reporting.
5. If a member is presenting or wishes to attend classified 
presentations, security clearance verification will be required.
Information on how to verify security clearances can be found on the
MORS website referenced above. If members are only presenting or 
attending unclassified presentations, no security clearance 
verification is required.
6. Uniform. Operational Dress Uniform with Ball Cap for military
members. Civilian attire is business casual.
