SUBJ: DEPLOYMENT OF LOOKING GLASS

1. REF (A) introduced the new Coast Guard Geospatial Information
System (GIS) Portal, SEXTANT, released on 07 JUL 2023. SEXTANT
provides a geospatial environment enabling user-defined dashboards,
Common Operating Pictures (COPs)/Common Intelligence Pictures
(CIPs), self-service mapping, and other geospatial products.
Additionally, SEXTANT enables interagency sharing of authoritative
geospatial information between all authorized and authenticated
users - both internal and external to the Coast Guard.
2. New to the SEXTANT Portal is LOOKING GLASS. LOOKING GLASS is the
replacement for CG1View and is a suite of web applications that
replicate the functionality contained in CG1View. Specifically,
COP, CIPs, Operations Manager, Vessel Management, and Command Status
Board applications have been deployed in LOOKING GLASS. LOOKING
GLASS was released on 23 OCT 2023 CG-wide. It will function in
parallel with the legacy CG1V, until CG1V is decommissioned OOA
25 NOV 2023.
3. Access to LOOKING GLASS, SILC Inventory, Condition Assessment
and Mapping (ICAM), and GIS training is available through SEXTANT
at:
