SUBJ: COAST GUARD FOUNDATION ENLISTED RESERVE SCHOLARSHIP SELECTEES
FOR 2023-2024
1. The Coast Guard Foundation sponsored $1,000 scholarships for
Academic Year 2023-2024 to help offset the costs of higher education
for enlisted Coast Guard reservists or their dependents.
2. I am pleased to announce the following Coast Guard Foundation
Enlisted Reserve Scholarship selectees for 2023-2024 (in
alphabetical order):
    a. BM3 Josiah Brott, Station Buffalo, Buffalo, NY. BM3 Brott is
pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary at
University at Buffalo.
    b. HSC Amy Gonzalez, Marine Safety Unit Port Arthur, Port Arthur,
TX.
    c. SN Ian Gough, Sector Honolulu, Honolulu, HI.
    d. MK2 Mark Herrera, Sector Miami, Miami Beach, FL. MK2 Herrera
is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts at Florida
International University.
    e. IS2 Jessica Meaders, Sector Maryland, Baltimore, MD.
IS2 Meaders is pursuing a Master of Education in Learning,
Leadership, and Organizational Development at University of Georgia.
    f. SK3 Kaylee Radford, PSC RPM-3 Individual Ready Reserve,
Washington, DC. SK3 Radford is pursuing an Associate in Applied
Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Wallace State Community
College.
    g. YN2 Jermarion Sykes, Sector Virginia, Portsmouth, VA.
YN2 Sykes is pursuing a Master of Science in Exercise Science and
Wellness at Liberty University.
3. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients.
4. The quality of submissions this year was exceptional. Applicants
not selected for a scholarship are commended for their initiative
and pursuit of higher education. I encourage you to compete again
next year and wish you every success in completing your educational
and career goals.
