SUBJ: DELAYED RELEASE OF THE AY24 ENLISTED SHOPPING LIST
1. I have directed the delay of the first AY24 enlisted shopping
list draft (unofficial list) to a new release date of 01 Oct 2023.
Due to anticipated workforce gaps it is necessary to further review
this list and forecast anticipated vacancies before publication.
This effort will increase the accuracy of the information and
transparency to the workforce.
2. While not ideal this delay will not change the timeline for the
subsequent official shopping list publication (01 Nov) and is not
expected to impact the AY24 assignment timeline or issuance of
orders (31 Mar 2024). We are working to develop the appropriate
mitigation strategies to minimize delayed announcements in the
future.
3. Once the official shopping list is published, there will be
adequate time for e-Resume submission.
4. I commend the ongoing efforts of our workforce, particularly
our enlisted workforce, that continues to go above and beyond to
close gaps where they exist. Because of your steadfast devotion
to duty, the Coast Guard continues to meet the needs of the Nation.
