APPLICATION GUIDANCE

1. The Office of Emergency Management & Disaster Response (CG-OEM)
is pleased to announce the release of the FY24 USCG Incident 
Command System (ICS) Certification Board application guidance.
The guidance outlined in this message replaces REF (A).
2. The USCG ICS Certification Board is a semiannual convening
mechanism for awarding Type 1 and Type 2 ICS certifications in 30
nationally recognized positions. Members desiring to apply are
encouraged to reach out to their local unit ICS Coordinator and
use the following resources to develop applications:

    b. U.S. Coast Guard ICS Certification Application
    c. U.S. Coast Guard ICS Experience Worksheet
    d. U.S. Coast Guard Additional/Historic ICS Experience Worksheet
    e. U.S. Coast Guard ICS Supplemental Experience Worksheet
3. All relevant resources, including an ICS Coordinator roster
and sample packages, are available on the ICS Program &
Coordinator SharePoint at:

4. The deadline for all applications to the local ICS Coordinator
is August 4, 2023 for the first FY24 board (October 2023) and
January 5, 2024 for the second FY24 board (March 2024). ICS
Coordinators will then route applications according to appropriate
routing chain in accordance with timelines outlined in the above
listed resources. 
5. The FY24 U.S. Coast Guard ICS Certification Boards will convene
in October 2023 and March 2024. All reviewed applications must be
received by COMDT (CG-OEM) by October 2, 2023, for the first board
and by March 4, 2024 for the second board.
6. Any ICS Type 1 and 2 position certified members interested in
being  part of the convening boards are requested to notify
COMDT (CG-OEM) at: ICS-ProgramCoordinator@uscg.mil.
7. Questions regarding the ICS Certification Board application
process should be directed to the local unit ICS Coordinator or
to COMDT (CG-OEM) at: ICS-ProgramCoordinator@uscg.mil.
