SUBJ: OFF-SEASON SOLICITATION - YN1 - EXEC SECRETARIAT TO THE MCPOCG
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST M1000.8A
1. PSC-EPM-2 is soliciting for the following off-season vacancy:

YN1 00026091 EXEC SECRETARIAT TO THE MCPOCG WASHINGTON, DC
2. Selected member will have a report date OOA 01 AUG 2023.
3. Description of Duties: An E-6 YN billet to support the duties of Secretariat
and Staff Assistant to the Office of the MCPOCG, providing direct administrative
support to MCPOCG and D-MCPOCG as they support the CCG and VCG respectively in
advancing CG Strategy. Duties include, but are not limited to performing a variety
of services in direct support of the Office of the MCPOCG such as: managing
correspondence in all forms, including calendars and RSVPs, managing calls, SharePoint,
MS Teams, Planner, ETS, DA, and several other computer-based tools and systems.
Managing centralized community channels including Chief’s Mess, CMCs, RFMCs,
SELAC. Work with CCG and VCG staff, Flag Mess, and Protocol to arrange for
engagements, track read-ahead materials, coordinate travel plans, collaborate
with units, etc. Communicate across all layers of the enterprise and external
organizations including the Department, other military services, philanthropic,
support, and veteran assistance organizations.
4. Interested candidates should submit an e-Resume with command
endorsement IAW reference (a), including acknowledgement that a backfill
will not be provided until AY24, by COB 04 JUN 2023.
5. Application Process: Members will be screened for the position and selected
based on desire, background, and performance. Members must also submit an
application package to PSC-EPM-2 (CWO3 Michael T. King, YN Assignment Officer).
Application packages submitted must include:
A. Cover Memo (Section 1) - Submitted in basic CG memo format. The memo must be no
more than two pages and include a narrative expressing applicant's desire to serve
as the Secretariat and Staff Assistant to the Office of the MCPOCG, what experience
the member would bring to the position, and view of the responsibilities of the position.
B. Command Endorsement (Section 2) - Signed memo from nominee's Commanding Officer
(O-4 or above) confirming the member satisfies minimum requirements for this assignment,
a statement regarding member's demonstrated commitment to the Coast Guard's Core Values,
and the member's availability to meet characteristics described below in paragraph 5.C,
and indicate the applicant's current security clearance status. This is a highly visible
position that interfaces with Coast Guard Senior Leadership. Unit Commanders are encouraged
to personally pre-screen candidates. The best qualified candidates will be considered.
C. Special Requirements: Because of the unique responsibilities of this high profile
position and daily interaction with senior Coast Guard officials, the incumbent must
be a consummate professional displaying seasoned, mature, confident leadership and
possess exemplary administrative and communications skills. All applicants must hold
a current Secret clearance.
6. As a reminder candidates should ensure their iPERMS record is complete
and accurate (e.g. CG-4082, CG-3307s, awards, and academic transcripts).
Members are also encouraged to review their ESS in CGBI. The ESS provides
a consolidated view of their information as it appears in Direct Access.
This serves as a means for every Coast Guard member to review their personal
data and to ensure the information in Direct Access is up to date and accurate.
7. Members who have been issued AY23 orders are not eligible to apply.
