The Coast Guard Cutter Waesche (WMSL 751) and crew returned to their Alameda homeport, Friday, following a 90-day counternarcotics patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. The 418-foot national security cutter and crew patrolled more than 15,000 nautical miles conducting law enforcement and search-and-rescue operations in international waters off Central America and South America.

Waesche’s crew interdicted two suspected drug-smuggling vessels while patrolling international waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean, resulting in the seizure of approximately 881 pounds of cocaine and 9,500 pounds of marijuana.
