SUBJ: UPDATE - ADVANCE-TO-POSITION (A2P) BETA TEST FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2023 (CY23)

1. This message updates ALCGENL 010/23 which established advancement and assignment procedures
for administrating the A2P beta test in CY23.
2. CG-1 has authorized CG PSC-EPM to expand the A2P beta test in CY23 to include all ratings.
A2P will be limited to paygrades E6-E9. CG PSC-EPM will release an ALCGENL announcing the
opening of A2P for applicable rates once the third revision to the 2022 Advancement
Eligibility List is exhausted. Assignment Officers (AO) will publish their remaining
vacancies for the applicable rate on their Microsoft TEAMs and/or SharePoint sites.
After A2P is initiated, cuts for applicable rates may be adjusted in a fourth revision
of the 2022 Advancement Eligibility List, as required.
3. All other aspects of advancement and assignment procedures for administrating the A2P
beta test in CY23 remain in effect.
