SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR THE DOD CIVILIAN EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM
1. The Office of Leadership (CG-1D2), is soliciting
applications for the Department of Defense Civilian Emerging
Leaders Program. This opportunity is being offered as part of the
wider DHS Academic Programs Spring Open Season for civilians and
military members.
a. The DHS Academic Programs prepare leaders to bridge gaps
in intergovernmental, interagency and civil-military cooperation by
bringing together a diverse range of participants to share
perspectives and lay the foundation for long-term homeland
security collaboration.
b. Additionally, through graduate and executive-level
coursework, seminars, and research, participants gain the analytic
and critical thinking skills and substantive expertise they need to
make innovative solutions that address threats facing the nation.
2. The Department of Defense Civilian Emerging Leaders Program
(DCELP) offers a dynamic learning environment for entry-level and
emerging Federal leaders. During the four seminars lasting one week
each, participants are immersed in a variety of experiential
activities that promote self-awareness, enhance oral and written
communication skills, share proven team building strategies, and
strengthen overall leadership capabilities. Tuition and course
materials are paid by the Department of Defense. Travel and per
diem will be paid by each participant's Unit.
a. Eligibility: Civilians Only; GS-7 through GS-12.
b. DHS Application Deadline: Completed nomination packages
are due to the CG POC NLT COB 04 AUG 2023.
c. Program Duration: Each of two cohorts contain four
seminars lasting one week each.
