2023 BAH rates are out and will take effect New Year’s Day

  • Average rate increasing 12%

Military members will see an 11% increase in BAS for 2023

  • Both enlisted and officers will see higher rate beginning Jan. 1.

Special Duty Pay updates announced  

  • New SDP authorized for Precision Marksman-Aviation (PM-A) HITRON/ATC
  • Updates to SDP for Aviation Survival Technicians, Independent Duty Food Service Officers, Food Service Officers and Port Security Unit tactical coxswains

Updated Cyber Officer Career Guide highlights expanding opportunities

  • New: Cyber officers are becoming leaders in sectors, local port communities, and mission-support roles
  • Learn about cyber officer careers and dual specialties

Become an award-winning photographer or videographer!

  • The 2022 Chief Journalist Alex Haley awards program wants to see YOUR photos and video!
  • Competition is open to Coast Guard active duty, reserve, civilian, and auxiliary members!
  • It does not require you to compete against trained public affairs specialists
  • You just need to upload your content to DVIDS by Dec. 31. (Your servicing public affairs office will help you!)
