1. On 28 November 1775, the Continental Congress directed that 
divine services be held aboard all naval ships.  
2. Since 1924, Navy Chaplains have also provided point-of-need care
for United States Coast Guard workforce. 
3. Today, we wish a happy 247th birthday to those who champion 
Spiritual Readiness. Happy Birthday, Navy Chaplains!
