MIAMI — U.S. Coast Guard District Seven crews make heavy weather preparations across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in advance of Tropical Storm Nicole’s forecast impact, Wednesday.

The tropical storm is anticipated to strengthen into a hurricane prior to making landfall.

Homeland Security Task Force - Southeast crews continue to monitor irregular maritime migration to deter and prevent attempts to illegally enter the U.S. by sea. Migrants interdicted by HSTF-SE will be rescued and repatriated.

As a reminder, anyone in distress should use 911 or VHF radio channel 16 to request assistance. Social media should not be used to report distress.
