1. This ALCOAST continues the suspension of paragraph 3.a.6.a.(2)(c)
of REF (A), previously announced in REF (B), requiring active duty
members in the paygrade of E-6 to attend the Chief Petty Officer
Academy (CPOA) prior to advancement to E-7.
2. CPOA sessions have returned to full capacity after COVID-19
closures, but a significant backlog of students will exist in the
short-term future. Until the backlog is resolved, members already
advanced to E-7 will receive the highest priority to allow them to
compete for E-8. Members above the cutoff for E-7 must follow
existing procedures to request CPOA and be ready to attend upon a
space available basis.
3. Members must attend CPOA before advancing to E-8.
4. This ALCOAST is cancelled on 27 OCT 2023.
