1. The Office of Emergency Management & Disaster Response (CG-OEM)
is pleased to announce the release of the FY23 USCG Incident 
Command System (ICS) Certification Board application guidance.
The guidance outlined in this message replaces REF (A).
2. The USCG ICS Certification Board is now a semiannual convening
mechanism for awarding Type 1 and Type 2 ICS certifications in 30
different nationally recognized positions. Members desiring to
apply are encouraged to reach out to their local unit ICS
Coordinator and use the following resources to develop applications:

   b. U.S. Coast Guard ICS Certification Application
   c. U.S. Coast Guard ICS Experience Worksheet
   d. U.S. Coast Guard ICS Supplemental Experience Worksheet
3. All relevant resources, including an ICS Coordinator roster and
sample packages, are available on the ICS Program & Coordinator
Portal at:

4. The deadline for all applications to the local ICS Coordinator is
August 15th, 2022 for the first FY23 board and January 9th, 2023
for the second FY23 board. ICS Coordinators will then route
applications according to appropriate routing chain procedures and
timelines as outlined in the above listed resources. 
5. All reviewed applications must be received by COMDT (CG-OEM)
by October 3rd, 2022, for the first board and by March 1st, 2023
for the second board. The first FY23 U.S. Coast Guard ICS
Certification Board will convene in  October 2022 and the second
board will convene in March 2023.
6. Any ICS Type I and II position certified members interested in
being  part of the convening boards are requested to notify
COMDT (CG-OEM) at: ICS-ProgramCoordinator@uscg.mil.
7. Questions regarding the ICS Certification Board application
process should be directed to the local unit ICS Coordinator or
to COMDT (CG-OEM) at: ICS-ProgramCoordinator@uscg.mil.
