SUBJ: COAST GUARD GAMING PARTICIPATION IN 2022 ESPORTS COMPETITIONS
1. The Community Services Command (CSC) Morale, Well-being, and
Recreation (MWR) partnered with the Coast Guard Recruiting Command
(CGRC) to align the Coast Guard with the other services esports
programs to support readiness, retention, and resiliency within the
service. The commands established Coast Guard Gaming (CGG) to create
an inclusive gaming community where all ages, ranks, and backgrounds
can come together and share fun gaming experiences. It forms positive
relationships, enhances the competitive spirit, and improves esprit
de corps.
2. In 2021, the Warrior GMR Foundation staged its first gaming event,
the RugbyTown Sevens Esports Cup, which featured an in-person
competition between all military branches. The competition was held
in conjunction with the annual Armed Forces Sports Rugby Championship
and has paved the way for military gaming possibilities. It was the
first event for CGG, who made an impressive showing and finished
second place in the tournament.
3. The Warrior GMR Foundation will host the inaugural Warrior Fest
Esports Championship Series in 2022, consisting of three gaming
events where military teams compete and unite with a diverse group of
amateur gamers and viewers. In addition to the Warrior Fest, CGRC has
partnered with Philly E-Sports to host a live CG recruiting event,
and Air Force Gaming will host an Armed Forces Championship.
4. CGRC will fund the members chosen to represent the Coast Guard
teams in the following FY22 events.
a. 2 April: CGG Philly E-Sports Tournament, Philadelphia, PA.
b. 26-31 May: Armed Forces Esports Championship, San Antonio, TX.
c. 3-6 June: Warrior GMR Series 1, Los Angeles, CA.
d. 15-18 July: Warrior GMR Series 2, Chicago, IL.
e. 17-22 August: Warrior GMR Series Finale, Glendale, CO.
5. Active Duty members interested in applying should join the CGG
Discord to learn about opportunities and online qualifiers. CGG
moderators manage the channel and advise CGRC of team selections upon
command endorsements. Interested gamers can access the CGG Discord
through personal devices at the link below.

6. Gamers should join the CGG community to keep up with the latest
developments for the advertised schedule and other virtual gaming
opportunities. CGG moderators will manage all inquiries via the
