1. This ACN announces an update to REF (A).
2. Effective upon release of this ACN, REFs (B) and (C) supersede
REF (A) with regard to CG accession and retention medical standards
for mental and behavioral health conditions.
3. As specified in REFs (B) and (C), these standards shall be
applied in accordance with the needs of the CG with regard to
accession and retention waiver dispositions and the processing
and adjudication of Medical Evaluation Boards (MEBs).
4. CG health services personnel involved with the fitness for duty
evaluation process shall ensure that clinical improvement or
deterioration during the MEB and/or waiver process is taken into
account during the entirety of the process. CG health services
personnel shall withdraw waiver and/or MEB processing requests
when a CG service member is able to achieve Available for
Full Duty (AFFD) status prior to package submission to PSC-PSD-Med.
Cases already in receipt or processing by PSC-PSC-Med will require
updated notes or addendum NARSUM.
5. These changes will be made to the next revision of REF (A),
which will be released within the next year.
