SUBJ: UPDATE TO VOLUNTARY CREDENTIALING PROGRAM (VCP) POLICY
A. Coast Guard Voluntary Credentialing Program (VCP),
COMDTINST 1540.10
1. This ACN announces an update to the Coast Guard Voluntary
Credentialing Program (VCP) review process contained in REF (A).
2. REF (A), Paragraph 11.a.(1) now reads "Current funding supports
CA for enlisted personnel and officers." Officers will be eligible
for CA beginning 1 April 2022.
3. REF (A), Paragraph 11.c.(2) now reads "Eligible enlisted
service members may apply for two credentials (e.g. initial exam,
application, renewal, or maintenance fee) per fiscal year.
Eligible officers may apply for one credential (e.g. initial exam,
application, renewal, or maintenance fee) per fiscal year."
4. REF (A), Paragraph 12.e.(2) now reads "Members must submit
their CA applications no more than 90 days from the exam date."
5. This policy change will be incorporated into the next revision
of REF (A), which will be released within the next year.
6. This ACN is effective until 16 FEB 2023.
