SUBJ: COAST GUARD 2021 ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY
(OAS) INITIAL RESULTS
1. The Coast Guard Organizational Assessment Survey (CG-OAS)
was administered from May 26, 2021 to September 16, 2021. As
with previous CG-OAS administrations, this was a census survey,
meaning every eligible Coast Guard member including active duty,
selected reserve, and civilian members could participate. A total
of 8,836 Coast Guard members completed the survey for an approximate
response rate of 17%.
2. The U. S. Government Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
recently issued unit/command level initial results for the survey,
and will produce a full analysis report by spring of 2022. The
individual unit and command level results are available now and
to obtain a copy, please contact the CG OAS Program Manager,
Mrs. Jeyanthi Flora Wesley, email (jeyanthiflora.wesley@uscg.mil).
Results are only reported for units that have eight or more survey
respondents. All leaders, managers, and supervisors are encouraged
to look at unit results to assess the workplace climate to improve
their team's work experience in the CG. Unit commanders are also
encouraged to share their results with their crews.
3. I greatly appreciate the feedback and participation in
the 2021 CG-OAS. Coast Guard leadership is steadfast in efforts
to improve all work environments, and committed to using this
year's feedback to continue to make the Coast Guard an employer
of choice within DHS and the entire Federal Government.
4. CG OAS Program Manager: Mrs. Jeyanthi Flora Wesley,
COMDT (CG-1B1), by email to jeyanthiflora.wesley@uscg.mil
