Manual, Volume II, COMDINST M16114.33D
C. Boat Crew Qualification Handbook, Vol 1, BQH 16115.1 (series)
1. Purpose: Provide updated policy and guidance to the field in
light of the closure of the Boat Forces Underwater Egress Trainer
(BF UWET) at Aviation Technical Training Center,
Elizabeth City, NC.
2. Background: The Office of Boat Forces (CG-731), in collaboration
with FORCECOM (T), have identified a suitable BF UWET located at
the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), in Glynco, GA.
34 classes (24 students per class) have been allocated to the Coast
Guard beginning 11 Jan 22 through the end of the fiscal year.
3. Action: Due to the available training at FLETC Glynco, REF (A)
is canceled as of 01 JAN 2022. IAW REF (B), commands shall submit
Electronic Training Requests for members needing to complete UWET
to certify as boat crewmen. Additionally, units are reminded that
the UWET requirement may be temporarily deferred by the CO/OIC
pending attendance of training at FLETC Glynco.
4. Additional information:
a. Members are responsible for visiting the FLETC Glynco website

5. Though the UWET at FLETC Glynco will alleviate a large percentage
of the field's needs, there will be some members needing the
training, but will not be able to attend in FY22. Thus, unit
CO/OIC's must continue to be diligent ensuring members possess
the knowledge and skills to assume boat crew qualifications.
Specific emphasis should be placed on boat crew task BCM-02-16-TYPE
(Boat Egress Principles and Procedures), contained in REF (C) when
certifying new crewmembers.
6. These changes will be incorporated to the next revision
of REF (B), which will be released within the next year.
7. This message will be cancelled on 21 DEC 2022.
8. POC: CG-731 Mr. Kevin Jones, (202) 372-2459.
FORCECOM(T) LCDR JoEllen Arons, (202) 475-5506.
9. Released by RDML Todd C. Wiemers, Assistant Commandant for
Capability (CG-7).
10. Internet release is authorized.
