SUBJ: UPDATE TO THE TATTOO, BODY MARKING, BODY PIERCING, AND
MUTILATION POLICY

1. This ACN announces updates to REF (A) regarding additional
tattoo locations as directed by REF (B).
2. The following changes to paragraphs (c) and (d) of Section 10
of REF (A) are effective immediately:
a. Fingers: A single finger tattoo per hand between the first
knuckle and the fingertip, on the top or side of the finger, is
authorized and may be visible at the position of attention.
b. Head/Face. One tattoo behind one ear that is no larger than
one inch in measurement in any dimension (height/width) is
authorized.
3. All other requirements and prohibitions contained in REF (A)
remain unchanged by this ACN.
4. These changes will be included in the next revision of REF (A),
which will be released within the next year.
5. This message will be cancelled on 24 OCT 2022.
