1. Per REF (A), the new travel system, E-Gov Travel System (ETS),
implementation will begin on 01 October 21 (Q1 of FY22). ETS is the
Coast Guard’s all-in-one travel system that will assist our members
with booking travel, creating and approving orders, and submitting
travel claims. Supporting the Coast Guard workforce is a top
priority during this transition leading up to and after go-live.
Our teams have developed an implementation plan to include online
resources such as user guides, video tutorials, and online forums.
Additionally, after assessing the impacts, risks, and challenges
presented by the implementation of the new Financial System
Management Solution (FSMS) and ETS, the establishment and deployment
of a Travel Assist Team (TAT) has been undertaken as part of the
implementation of the ETS roll-out. This team will play a
critical role during the implementation phase of ETS, easing
the burdens during this transition for members and units.
Our TAT members are assigned to designated geographic areas
supporting the PPC Customer Call Center with inquiries from
travelers and approvers using ETS.
2. TAT members will provide customer service and quality assurance
checks, as well as identify emerging issues early in the
implementation process. Team members will provide training to units
prior to the go-live date of 01 October 21, facilitating a more
seamless transition for users. TAT members will also support unit
level Approving Officials (AOs) during the vouchering and settlement
process.
3. Unit Commanders, Commanding Officers, OICs and Supervisors
should direct members needing ETS assistance to use the TAT hotline:
1-866-800-USCG (8724) during the business hours of 0800 – 2000 EDT.
Once members call the hotline, they will be prompted to select a
geographic region (Pacific, Central or East time zones) for regional
customer care; OCONUS members can select any region to be connected
to a team member. If members call PPC directly for assistance, the
PPC Customer Care Team will direct callers to the TAT hotline.
4. Direct inquiries regarding ETS travel policy, workforce
training schedule, or general questions to Travel Management
Office at HQS-SMB-CG-1332-TravelManagementOffice@uscg.mil,
so telephone lines can remain open for members trying to
access and use ETS to process travel arrangements.
5. For other related ETS or Travel Management Officer (TMO)
questions, please contact CDR William Suter, TMO Implementation
(CG-133) at (202) 475-5377 or William.W.Suter@uscg.mil
6. RADM E. C. Jones, Assistant Commandant for Human Resources
(CG-1), sends.
7. Internet release is authorized.
