1. Assignment to Air Station Washington D.C. is a unique
opportunity to support Senior Government and Coast Guard
officials world-wide travel demands.
This assignment comes with advanced professional development
and training opportunities not normally received at other units
around the Coast Guard.
2. Eligibility:
a. Meets minimum standards outlined in reference (A), Ch.1.E.2.
b. Tour complete in AY22.
c. Eligible for Top Secret clearance
d. Have current Basic Aircrew designator
Note: Members above a published cut for AET2, AMT2, and AETC
are eligible to apply.
3. Application:
a. Candidate Resume (CG memo format, max 2 pages): Include why
you are best suited for this assignment along with a summary of
assignment history with your roles and responsibilities at each
unit, beginning with your most recent assignment. (See reference
(b) for candidate resume memo template)
b. Employee Summary Sheet (ESS): Included as Enclosure (1) to your
Candidate Resume memo.
Note: It is very important applicant's ESS is up to date.
Applicants should work with their SPOs to correct missing or
inaccurate information.
An accurate ESS will significantly improve an applicants
opportunity for selection.
c. Employee Evaluation Review (EER) Summary Sheet
(from Direct Access): Included as Enclosure (2) to your Candidate
Resume Memo.
d. AIRSTA Washington Interview Questionnaire form
(See reference (b)): Included as Enclosure (3) to your Candidate
Resume Memo.
e. Command Endorsement, max 1 page formatted as an endorsement to
members Candidate Resume Memo (See reference (b) for first
endorsement memo template) and addresses the following:
(1). Statement verifying member meets all eligibility
requirements listed in para. 2.
(2). Communication Skills: Overall speaking ability, tact,
diplomacy, confidence, and general poise when interacting with
senior Coast Guard Officers and officials.
(3). Leadership: The candidates interpersonal skills in the
workplace and ability to support, develop, direct and influence
others in performing work.
(4). Military appearance and bearing.
(5). Professional/Specialty knowledge.
(6). Opinion of the applicants potential to perform the duties
and responsibilities at Air Station Washington.
4. AY22 Direct Access eResume:
a. No eResume submission is required for this solicitation.
b. Members shall still submit an AY22 eResume IAW reference (C)
for all other desired assignments in AY22.
5. Timeline:
a. Applications are emailed to your Assignment Officer
(see para 7) NLT 18 September 2021.
*Email subject line shall read: Air Station Washington-Your Name-
Your EMPLID.
b. Deadline extensions will not be granted for late submissions
or to correct errors.
6. Selection Process:
a. NLT 2 October 2021: All applications screened and short list
developed for onsite assessment.
b. OOA 26-30 October 2021: Members selected for onsite assessment
will receive funded orders to Air Station Washington D.C.
c. OOA 18 November 2021: Air Station Washington provides EPM-2
list of preferred and suitable candidates.
d. OOA 1 December 2021: Selected candidates notified.
