SUBJ: COAST GUARD PORT SECURITY UNIT (PSU) RESERVE MAINTENANCE AUGMENTATION TEAM
(RMAT) PILOT PROGRAM EXTENSION AND OFF-SEASON ASSIGNMENT SOLICITATION
A. Reserve Policy Manual, COMDTINST M1001.28 (series)
1. This message announces new and exciting Reserve opportunities at Base Boston,
as part of the Reserve RMAT Pilot Program. This extension of the pilot program
aims to leverage skills possessed by current Reserve members rated as Machinery
Technician (MK) and Electronics Technician (ET) that may be interested in assignment
opportunities with this all Reserve force. This pilot program extension will charge
the PSU RMAT with completing unit level maintenance on the standard boat platforms
and non-standard expeditionary equipment, providing supplemental maintenance support
to Port Security Unit 301. MKs and ETs are encouraged to apply for this program.
2. As a result of this pilot program extension, applications for off-season Reserve
assignments exist for MKs and ETs within the reasonable commuting distance of
Base Boston, MA. Members that are interested should apply to the following positions:

3. The target population includes: MKC and MKCS members for position number
00049205; MK and ET members in paygrades E-6 and below can apply for all above
positions in their rate, except for the MKC position. Applicants who are not tour
complete must obtain a command endorsement to include acknowledgment of position
gap if member is selected.
4. These assignments are standard tour lengths as described in REF A.
5. Applicants must ensure their Direct Access contact information is accurate.
6. Effective assignment date will be OOA 1 Oct 2021, and selectees should expect
to begin drilling within 60 days.
