Coast Guard invites media to Seventh District Change of Command ceremony
Editor's Note: Media are requested to RSVP by 6 p.m., Wednesday, to the Seventh District public affairs office at 305-202-3735.
MIAMI — Coast Guard Seventh District staff invites the media to attend the Change of Command ceremony, Thursday at 10 a.m., at Air Station Miami.
Who: Rear Adm. Brenden McPherson is assuming the duties and responsibilities of the Seventh District Commander and Director of Department of Homeland Security Joint Task Force - Southeast from Rear Adm. Eric C. Jones.
Vice Adm. Steven D. Poulin, Atlantic Area Commander will be presiding.
What: A change of command ceremony is a time-honored tradition formally restating the continuity of the authority of command. It is a transfer of total responsibility and authority from one individual to another.
Where: Air Station Miami, 14750 NW 44th Ct., Opa-locka, Florida, 33054
When: Media are requested to arrive Thursday, 9:30 a.m.
Media interested in attending to the event must bring their credentials and ID to get through security.
