SUBJ: 2021 GRAND HAVEN COAST GUARD FESTIVAL SPORTING EVENTS
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST M1000.8a
1. The Grand Haven Coast Guard festival committee is sponsoring the
following events for this years Coast Guard festival:
      a. Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival Run/Walk
      b. Grand Haven Coast Guard Golf Tournament
      c. Grand Haven Coast Guard Softball Tournament
2. Due to changing and unknown COVID-19 restrictions, the Coast
Guard Festival has determined that this year’s Softball Event
will be limited to local units and visiting cutters. 
3. All entry fees, entry forms, and further information are
located in the Ninth District Notice 5720 dated 14 MAY 2021.

5. These events are not affiliated with or sponsored by the
U.S. Armed Forces or by any Armed Forces MWR program.
6. Administrative absence for the sporting events may be
authorized for military members in accordance with Ref A, subject
to Commanding Officer approval and current travel directives.
All expenses are the responsibility of the event participants.
