Coast Guard to hold media availability to kick off National Safe Boating Week in Alaska

WHAT: Personnel will be available to provide interviews regarding safe boating practices to kick off National Safe Boating Week

Anchorage, Alaska — Coast Guard Sector Anchorage personnel are available Friday for media interviews pertaining to National Safe Boating Week that kicks off Saturday.
Members will discuss the importance of life jackets, local boating hazards, essential and recommended boating equipment, engine cut-off switches, and other aspects of boating safety. Safe boating equipment will be available to help tell the story visually.
National Safe Boating Week is a campaign during which the National Safe Boating Council, U.S. Coast Guard, and other federal, state and local agencies promote safe boating practices prior to Memorial Day weekend.
