1. By order of the Commandant and IAW REF (A), the National Ensign
shall be flown at half mast from sunrise until sunset on Thursday,
06 May 2021, in honor of RADM Marshall “Ed” Gilbert, USCG (Retired).
2. The National Ensign shall be flown at half mast on all
Coast Guard buildings, grounds, and vessels not underway.
3. As announced in REF (B), RADM Marshall Gilbert, USCG (Retired),
passed away on Thursday, 04 June 2020 in Arlington, VA at the age
of 83. His full obituary can be found at:

4. RADM Gilbert will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery
(ANC) in Arlington, VA, on 06 May 2021; starting with a service at
the Old Post Chapel at 1:00 pm EDT. The interment will be followed
by a reception at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA,
from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
