Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Port Allen – Morgan City Alternate Route Mile Marker (MM) 47: Grosse Tete Bridge Under Repairs

 

Mariners are advised that the Grosse Tete HWY 77 bridge, located at MM 47 of the Port Allen – Morgan City Alternate Route, is undergoing repairs that prevent its normal operation, limiting the bridge to manual openings only. Nighttime opening hours have been extended in order to clear the queue from the recent high water event in Bayou Sorrel.

 

Starting April 27, 2021 and extending through May 2, 2021, the bridge will be manually opened daily for marine traffic at the following times: 10:00 A.M until noon and 10:00 PM until 4:00 AM. At the end of each open period, the bridge will remain open until the vessel queue is empty.

 

Starting May 3, 2021 and extending through May 15, 2021, the bridge will be manually opened daily for marine traffic at the following times: 10:00 A.M. until noon and 10:00 P.M until midnight. At the end of each open period, the bridge will remain open until the vessel queue is empty.
