Guide March 2021
1. The Coast Guard Office of Emergency Management and Disaster
Response (CG-OEM) is pleased to announce the convening of the
first Certification Board for the CGEMC program, as previously
announced in REFs (A) and (B). The Board will take place 31 May 2021
through 4 June 2021. All future Boards will occur as outlined in
REF (C) with the next board being held in October 2021.
2. Certification packages are due by Friday, 14 May 2021,
no exceptions.
3. The guidelines for the CGEMC can be found on the COMDT (CG-OEM)
Portal page at:
https://cg.portal.uscg.mil/units/cgcpe1/SitePages/CGEMC.aspx.
4. Per REF (C), if an applicant has a current certification through
an outside, professional emergency management credentialing program
they need only to submit proof of their current credential, for
example, the IAEM CEM (Registered Trademark), to CG-OEM-1@uscg.mil,
and the CGEMC will be granted upon Board review.
