SUBJ: AY21 MACHINERY TECHNICIAN (MK) FINAL SITREP

1. This SITREP concludes the AY21 assignment process for the
Machinery Technician (MK) active duty rating. Orders have been
issued for all AY21 tour complete MK's and E5-E9 open positions. Any tour
complete members that have not received orders or have not been contacted by
an MK Assignment Officer (AO) should notify one of the points of contact (POCs)
below in paragraph 4 immediately.
2. The AOs will continue to fill remaining AY2021 MK3 vacancies from
MK "A" School. For commands that do not see a MK3 ordered into an open AY21
position please assume that the position is on the "A" school list and
will be filled over the course of summer/fall 2021.
3. All vacancies to include EPO positions that may arise outside of the
assignment year will be posted as open positions on the SNIPES PLACE portal
site, reference B, under MK SOLICITATION/VACANCIES. If you are currently above
the cut for advancement or in a double encumbered position you may be contacted
by your respective AO to discuss filling one of these positions. Members
interested in these positions should contact their AO to discuss options.
Members applying for vacant positions must ensure that billets requiring
endorsements and screenings for eligibility are done in accordance with
reference A. EPO positions require applicants that successfully screened
for EPO in AY21 or comply with all requirements of reference A,
Article 1.C.7 to include a command endorsement.
