SUBJ:  2021 FEDERALLY EMPLOYED WOMEN (FEW) MILITARY MERITORIOUS
SERVICE AWARD
1. This ALCOAST solicits nominations for the 2021 Federally
Employed Women (FEW) Military Meritorious Service Award. The annual
recognition awards are given to a maximum of six exceptional
military service members; one each, Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines,
Coast Guard and the National Guard. The award recognizes
outstanding military service members who have distinguished
themselves with significant contributions to their service and
our nation.
2. All Coast Guard service members are eligible for consideration.
The performance period for the award is from January 2, to
December 31, 2020.
3. All nominations must include a narrative describing the nominee's
accomplishments consisting of one or more of the following:
   a. The nominee promoted a positive understanding of the armed
forces among and between men and women, minority and non-minority
members of the military and civilian population.
   b. The nominee fostered an innovative and constructive
environment between the military and civilian community and men and
women of all races and ethnic backgrounds that benefit employees
and/or community residents.
   c. The nominee displayed exceptional character that distinguished
the individual as an outstanding leader and role model.
   d. The nominee supported and worked towards the advancement of
women within the armed forces.
4. Nomination packages must include the following:
   a. Narrative describing the nominee's accomplishments, not to
exceed two pages.
   b. Biography of the nominee, not to exceed one page.
   c. Citation summarizing the nominee's accomplishments,
single-spaced, not to exceed 18 lines, Arial, 12-point font.
   d. Command cover memo, with signature, forwarding the package.
   e. Award Nomination Transmittal Form available from the Point of
Contact listed in Paragraph 6.
   f. The narrative and biography must be in MS Word, 12-point
font, single-spaced with one-inch left and right margins. Please do
not include other Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
5. Nominations must be forwarded as email attachments to the POC no
later than April 30, 2021. COMDT (CG-00H) will send all nominations
to FEW for consideration and final selection. The command of the
award recipient will be notified by email prior to announcement of
the information to the workforce.
