SUBJ: SOLICITATION FOR WOMEN OF COLOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY,
ENGINEERING, AND MATH (STEM) 2021 CONFERENCE AWARD NOMINATIONS
1. This ALCOAST announces that Career Communications Group, (CCG)
the host of the annual Women of Color (WOC) STEM Conference
is accepting nominations for awards to be presented at the 2021
conference, scheduled for 7-9 October 2021. Due to COVID-19,
the organizers have not yet decided on a virtual or in-person
venue and format. These awards recognize outstanding women from
all racial backgrounds in the STEM fields and provide excellent
opportunities to showcase the superior achievements of the
US Coast Guard’s highest performing military and civilian women.
    a. Women of Color STEM Professional Peer-Reviewed Award
Categories are:
        i. Career Achievement
        ii. Community Service
        iii. Corporate Responsibility
        iv. Diversity Leadership
        v. Educational Leadership - Corporate Promotion of Education
        vi. Managerial Leadership
        vii. New Media/IT Leadership
        viii. Outstanding Technical Contribution
        ix. Professional Achievement
        x. Technical Innovation
    b. Women of Color STEM Academia Peer-Reviewed Award Categories
are:
        i. Educational Leadership - College-Level Promotion
of Education
        ii. Educational Leadership - K-12 Promotion of Education
        iii. Student Leadership
    c. Women of Color STEM Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA)
Employer-Reviewed Award Categories are:
        i. Technology All-Star
        ii. Technology Rising Star
2. You may obtain additional information on the 2021 WOC STEM
Conference and the WOC Awards at:
https://intouch.ccgmag.com/page/awards. All nomination
packages must be sent directly or submitted online to
the Career Communications Group per the guidance and
criteria on their website:
https://wocawards.secure-platform.com/a. In addition
to this process, nominators will notify COMDT (CG-127)
of all nominees for tracking purposes. Nomination packages
for all peer reviewed awards are due to Career Communications
Group NLT 30 April 2021. Nomination packages for all
employer-reviewed awards are due to Career Communications
Group NLT 15 May 2021.
3. This message will be cancelled on 01 June 2021.

COMDT (CG-127) will seek authorization from COMDT (CG-81)
for conference attendance approval. All award winner travel
(if in-person) and registration will be sponsored by their
nominating command/unit. Conference approval and attendance
is subject to change based on Coast Guard guidance and policy
in response to COVID-19. Your flexibility and understanding
is requested.

Policy (CG-5RI) is the USCG Executive Champion for Women of Color
STEM Conference.
