SUBJ: OFF-SEASON CAPT SOLICITATION FOR UNMANNED SYSTEMS CROSS FUNCTIONAL WORKING GROUP LEAD 
1. An off-season CAPT assignment opportunity exists for a Captain or
Captain (select) to serve as the UXS WORKING GROUP LEAD.The working group will
create a holistic and multi-domain approach to UxS to ensure the Coast Guard can
predict, deter, and counter adversaries; reduce the dull, dirty, dangerous, and
distant demands on personnel; and ensure regulatory compliance with the Coast
Guard’s maritime authorities. The billet will lead the development of the
strategic vision for leveraging UxS across Coast Guard missions; layout a roadmap
to accomplish that vision; and serve as a focal point for internal and external
engagement. The position will oversee and coordinate a Working Group of over 50
CG and DHS S&T members. The anticipated report date is Summer 2021.
