MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Coast Guard to conduct aerial rescue search-and-rescue training in Chatham surf

BOSTON –The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a media availability to demonstrate aerial search-and-rescue capabilities within the Chatham, Massachusetts, surf zone, Tuesday.

Areas along the Chatham create unpredictable and dangerous surf conditions. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts, MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crews regularly train in these surf areas to rescue those in need. This training is designed to improve air crew proficiency, and area familiarity when operating in the surf environment.

Who: Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, and Coast Guard Station Chatham personnel.
What: Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod Jayhawk rescue crews will be conducting surf rescue training near Chatham.
When: 9 a.m., Tuesday.
Where: Coast Guard Station Chatham, 37 Main St, Chatham, MA 02633.
